Gentle Space Counselling

Bethany Tapp mbacp (she/her) A person-centred counsellor providing a non-judgemental, caring space for those who are searching for self-acceptance and self-love within Lincoln and online.

How counselling can help you

I currently offer virtual individual therapy sessions within the week. I also offer a free initial introductory appointment for us to get to know each other and decide if we will be a good fit. All sessions will last 50 minutes and will either be weekly or bi-weekly depending on your needs. I provide both short and long-term therapy and we can discuss the planned duration of our work together during our initial session. We will review our process every 6 sessions.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, my approach is non-directive. This means that as your counsellor, my focus is on you as a person, not on providing you with an answer to your problems. The starting point for counselling is always the issue or difficulty that you might be experiencing and as this issue is explored and shared, underlying issues can be uncovered. It can be a challenging process, as you may be working through some difficult issues. I will work with you to explore these issues, gain greater self-awareness and discover your own inner resources. This will help you to move forward and make constructive changes. I will listen to you without judgement, but with warmth and empathy and provide a safe and gentle space for you to share openly.

Providing you with a safe space to relax

The decision to go to therapy is a difficult one. That is why I want to make the decision and the process as easy as possible for you by providing a safe space for you to talk and share your experiences without judgement. Whether you have been struggling for a number of years or only for a few weeks. Whether it affects you daily or only occasionally. All problems are important and you deserve to be listened to.

All our sessions will be confidential to ensure your sense of safety and trust. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as as such abide by their Ethical Framework

About me

My name is Bethany Tapp but you can call me Beth.

I am a qualified BACP Counsellor based in Lincoln. I have always had a desire to help others and I decided to pursue this dream further by training to become a counsellor during the COVID-19 pandemic. I understand what it's like to feel lost and unsure of yourself and within my own personal therapy, I have learnt the importance of unconditional love and acceptance of yourself and empathy in order to become a more authentic human being. Through this, I have realised that I want to help others learn to love themselves and learn who they really are.

I am currently working remotely, and can see clients from all over the country. I work with all adults over the age of 18 years old. I have previously worked with inidiviudals who have sought therapy for a number of reasons. These include depression, stress, anxiety, relational issues and low self-esteem.
