Gentle Space Counselling
Bethany Tapp mbacp (she/her) Providing accessible, person-centred online counselling across the UK, tailored to your unique experience and paceThe Counselling Process
Counselling offers a safe space to pause, reflect and explore what's going on beneath the surface of everyday life. Everyone's experience is different, and you decide what to focus on in each session. I'm here to support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping you gain insight and clarity in a way that feels meaningful to you.
Many clients come for short-term support to manage a specific challenge, such as stress, anxiety, low mood, a relationship difficulty or a recent life change. Even a few sessions can provide relief, practical coping strategies and a clearer perspective. Others may choose longer-term counselling where we can dive deeper into who you are. We can discuss what works best for you in our introduction session.
Sessions can sometimes bring up strong emotions - this is a natural and important part of the process. We work at a pace that feels safe for you, giving space to process, reflect and gradually build understanding. You are not alone in this - I provide a supportive, non-judgemental presence throughout.
Over time, many clients find that counselling helps them develop greater self-awareness, confidence, emotional resilience and a deeper understanding of themselves. Whether you are navigating life's everyday challenges or working through more complex issues, the counselling process is a collaborative journey tailored to your needs.
Getting started
Making the decision to start therapy can feel daunting which is why I offer a free introductory session. This gives you a chance to ask questions, discuss your goals and see if we are a good fit. During this session, we will also go through the counselling agreement and any practical details such as session frequency.
After this, it is completely your choice whether you feel comfortable scheduling in regular sessions.
Ongoing Sessions
I offer online individual counselling aged 18+.
My aim is to make counselling fit comfortably into your life, rather than expecting you to adjust your life around the sessions. I offer online counselling via secure video call (Google Meet) or telephone, and can be flexible with session length and frequency to meet your individual needs. Sessions typically last 50 minutes and are usually weekly or fortnightly but I'm happy to discuss any alternative arrangements that work better for you.
Some clients choose short-term counselling to address a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term support - there is no right answer! We will check in regularly to ensure the sessions continue to meet your needs and work at a pace that feels right for you.
Currently I am only offering evening and Saturday appointments at a rate of £45 per session. Please feel free to reach out with any specific questions about availability or regarding any concessionary rates.
